A little history of Those Funny Little People . . . . .
The first two LITTLE PEOPLE appeared in 1977 as a variety act for a fundraiser at Bishop McNamara High School in Kankakee, IL. Sarah McNulty-Polarek (St Elizabeth Seton, Naperville) and Dave Gregoire, (St Edmunds, Oak Park) both alumni of Bishop McNamara, created and animated the original characters at the fundraiser known as "Madcaps".
What began as a clever variety act at their old high school, has evolved into a highly respected family entertainment company that performs throughout the Chicagoland area and the United States.
Appearing since 1979 at such Chicagoland institutions as Marshall Fields and the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Little People have become an entertainment tradition. They are best known for appearing at wedding receptions with their lovable Bride & Groom, where they have become a tradition for thousands of families throughout the Midwest. The Little People have also appeared as the "Munchkins" in 3 productions of the Wizard of OZ at Marriott Theatre and at Chicago's Shakespeare Theatre. Using their signature "mini musical" productions that combine unique costuming, music, dance, and hilarious audience interaction, they also entertain at thousands of anniversaries, christenings, graduations, retirements & birthdays.
This new production, featuring Sister Mary Alphonsus & Father Jim, has been an idea in the making for many years. It's a tribute from Sarah & Dave to all of the inspirational priests and nuns that were their teachers throughout their combined 24
